The Benelli M2 Field is a semi-automatic sporting shotgun designed for hunting and outdoor sporting applications. It is part of Benelli’s established M2 family and uses the company’s Inertia Driven® operating system. For 2026, Benelli has updated the M2 Field with changes focused on stock ergonomics and recoil management.

The 2026 M2 Field incorporates Benelli’s Progressive Comfort stock system together with a Combtech Recoil Cheek Pad. The Progressive Comfort system uses progressively stiffening recoil-absorbing elements within the stock, while the Combtech pad is designed to reduce vibration and impact around the shooter’s cheek. The cheek pad is removable, allowing the stock configuration to be adjusted with different comb heights.

The shotgun is available in both 12-gauge and 20-gauge configurations, with 3-inch chambers. Depending on the configuration, barrel lengths include 26 and 28 inches. Benelli offers several finish options, including Black Synthetic, Realtree® Max-7™, Mossy Oak® Bottomland™, GORE™ OPTIFADE™ Marsh, and GORE™ OPTIFADE™ Timber.

The Inertia Driven® system is a defining feature of the M2 platform. Unlike gas-operated semi-automatic systems, the mechanism uses the energy generated by recoil to cycle the action. Benelli has used this operating principle across several of its sporting and hunting shotgun families.

The M2 Field has been offered in configurations suited to different hunting environments, including upland cover and waterfowl settings. Its relatively straightforward operating system and available stock and finish configurations make it a versatile member of Benelli’s field-shotgun lineup.

For 2026, Benelli USA lists the M2 Field with an MSRP starting at $1,699. Actual retail prices may differ between dealers and configurations.
